Как-то это совсем не похоже на отношения обычной заказчицы и художника. В итоге Ренуар был недоволен своей работой и решил написать ещё один портрет. Интересно, а что было бы, если Ренуар представил на их суд этюд 1878 года, где изображение Жанны написано лишь несколькими небрежными мазками.
