I created this oil painting on an extra thick gallery canvas, 24"x24"
Flowers and dancers seem to have many similarities.
French painter Edgar Degas seemed to take notice of this similitude as well, for many of his ballerinas resemble blossoms fluttering delicately
upon a stage. In this still life painting, Degas’ ballerinas interact quietly with a vase of white orchids. The dancers and the flowers are lovely,
youthful and full of life, yet poised and caught in this moment of rest and anticipation for a bright future ahead.
