Plantarium - For this art call, we are looking for visual artworks that explore the world of plants in all its forms and meanings. The purpose is to spread the awareness about the importance of nature, plants, leaves, grass, and flowers for continuance of human life in the planet earth and warn people about the global warming and climate change effects on plants and botanical life.

► Theme of the contest

Artists worldwide are encouraged to express their visual interpretation of the subject in their own artistic way. The purpose is to spread the awareness about the importance of nature, plants, leaves, grass, and flowers for continuance of human life in the planet earth and warn people about the global warming and climate change effects on plants and botanical life.

This artist call - is plants and our deep roots and relationship with trees, leaves, flowers, and green grass on the planet earth. The planet will cease to exist without plants, and we enormously rely on the plant world and use them in diverse ways, from food and medicine to clothing, building, and fuel.

These days, several doctors prescribe a barefoot walk in nature, looking at plants, smelling flowers, and touching trees' skin as one of the best methods for maintaining and enhancing physical and mental health.

Share your visual story of the plant world and create a unique botanical expression with their brilliant art of plants, herbs and vegetables, forests, trees, grass, flowers, and extensive usage.

Subjects and categories to inspire your submissions:

  • Botanical Portraits: Celebrate the individuality of flowers, trees, herbs, and vegetables.
  • Forests and Green Spaces: Capture the spirit of lush, wild landscapes and serene garden sanctuaries.
  • Abstract Botanical Art: Experiment with textures, colors, and shapes to create abstract representations of plant life.
  • Environmental Art: Works that highlight the role of plants in sustaining life on Earth, addressing themes like conservation, sustainability, and human impact.
  • Edible Art: Explore the beauty and healing power of food plants—fruits, vegetables, and herbs—showcasing their form, function, and cultural significance. From the vibrant colors of a ripe tomato to the soothing qualities of chamomile, this category invites you to celebrate the nourishing and therapeutic aspects of the plant world.
  • Healing and Medicinal Plants: Focus on the restorative and healing qualities of plants, herbs, and flowers used in traditional and modern medicine. This category invites artworks that explore the calming presence of lavender, the resilience of aloe, and the ancient wisdom of herbal remedies.
