About Me: Working exclusively in charcoal, Dan uses a realistic style that mimics photography to the point that extra signage has been displayed with his work, confirming that these are drawings, not photos. He loves shadows, contrast, anonymity & using negative space in his compositions. His gifted eye catches timeless “fragments” of life in his work----- whether it’s the intricate lines of the human hand, or the delicate folds of a garment, they are drawn in detailed simplicity. The mystery of his work lets the viewer use their imagination to interpret the meaning behind each compelling image.

With virtually no formal art training, Dan has been drawing since childhood. Throughout the years, he has displayed his work in local art shows, accepted private commissions, and his work has been selected for the cover of a local publication. More recently, he has had shows in Palm Springs, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Hollywood, Santa Ana, Long Beach & New York, and has been a featured artist in the Walk of Art & Design in West Hollywood. Dan has also begun cultivating international clients in Canada and as far away as Malaysia. Most recently 23 pieces of his work have been permanently installed in the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, as part of their impressive commercial art collection. Dan has won domestic & international awards for his work and continues to expand his market and challenge himself.
